I was initially inspired by some Digital Arts in which the sense of moving and fluidity were expressed. I found this a challenge for myself to bring these senses into the real world and create artworks to evoke the same concepts. I've used spheres painted in resin fluid art to show the sense of swirling and motion. In addition, the fabrics used are painted with alcohol inks to depict flying in the blowing air wind and therefore the idea of lightness. Resin is mostly used on flat surfaces as controlling the pouring seems easier on flat smooth surfaces. Therefore,the next challenge I had was to use resin as a liquid material on curved sphere surfaces to show my ability and expertise to control resin as well as creating fluid textures and 3D effects. So resin helps me show the initial concepts better. The combination of painted fabrics and spheres convey the sense of motion, lightness, flying and freedom. The colors used are even carefully selected to better transfer the idea of lightness and heaviness in the works as dark colors of any shades make the object look heavy and the arrangement of heavy spheres and wrinkled fabrics (to show sense of heaviness) with light colored spheres and moving fabrics help me present the concepts of flying, lightness, swirling and freedom better.
