About Me

I am Mahnaz Karimi, a modern Iranian artist with two decades of successful experience in painting. I specialize in Abstract Art, Fluid Art, Resin Art, Acrylic Painting and Glass Painting. As a creative artist, my methods are unorthodox.

Inspired by an intense love for the sky, galaxy, clouds and the sea, I would like to give the viewer a glimpse of nature. I attempt to make various art works from spectacular large scale abstract paintings and Mixed Media collages to resin art wall décor, bowls and platters of resin.

I was born in 1984 in Tehran. My interest to art was cultivated during my teenage years and further developed when I opted to take my Bachelor’s degree in Graphics from Alzahra University in Tehran, Iran. I have mastered the skills and chemistry of my medium, to further develop the process and expand its boundaries. In addition to my thirteen-year experience of glass painting (Vitray), I have been a professional abstract resin artist for eight years.

I received the Bronze A’ design award 2020 in Arts, Crafts and Ready-made Design Category in 2019-2020 period with my wall art design “Dandelion and Wishes”. I have been teaching the art of acrylic painting and resin since 2016. I have conducted several art workshops in Dubai and most cities of Iran, including; Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz, etc. and have had more than 1000 students annually.

My artworks are primarily based upon pouring which means applying the paint by pouring rather than applying the paint with a brush. This sense of fluidity along with the unpredictable nature of resin gives me the opportunity to explore varied textures found in nature more realistically than any other medium. Art is my first means of expressing feelings, to show other aspects of nature and realities of life to the viewers, to highlight the beauties and ease the griefs and hardships. Design is my perspective toward special subjects and objects.
